In the end it was all the same. All that was attempted, although at times, it was thought to have been deeply, surely known, reached right back around and disolved into that all too familiar, hopeless, sinking reality.

It seemed like forever-ago that he had made that defiant stand against futility, but really it was only a few months, maybe a year, maybe longer, it didn't matter. It all swirled together again like one long agonizing dream. He'd been a success, that's not to say his original intent had been sucessful, but that one of his machinations, his very first, had been that of a successful man, albeit his imaginated version of what a success looked and acted like. He would go on to re-invent many, many, more times of course; a playboy, a spiritual beacon, a superhero, rockstar, father, mystery, lover, martyr,Solider, political force, drifter, and finally, (at least for now...who the fucks knows?)...... a vigilante. Not a hater and destroyer of crime, though he did hate that, not a do-gooder, saving the poor wretch being robbed in the alley-swooping down from the shadows to eke out street justice with a hand-cannon vigilante, but a kind of vigilante of truth. The real truth, the really real kind of absolute pants down REALITY truth.
